How are data transferred across the IT world?
At the moment, most of the sensitive data routing occurs via dedicated Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL). ADSL lines are point-to-point switched connections that ensure absolute fidelity of data transfer. While the Internet is highly reliable, its packet switching protocol cannot offer the same reliability when packets gets misrouted, lost or re-sent.

What is the difference between the ADSL and the Internet data transfers?
In ADSL, we have ‘fixed lines’ like our old phone lines that are switched on and off between two specific points creating some kind of continuous loop. Such tube ensures that the data lands in the correct destination. As for the Internet protocol, data are sliced into small packet (packet switching) and routed via multiple paths towards their final destination. While the Internet transfer protocol is highly performant and resistant, they do not form a continuous switched secure line.
